Magma’s take:

London’s premier Jazz club presents

This multi-talented artist, who hails from New York and now calls Los Angeles home, has a knack for blurring the lines between different music genres.

His unique sound emerges from a fusion of diverse styles like hyperpop and drum ‘n’ bass, a testament to his wide range of musical influences. The music from his second album, Evergreen, showcases this beautifully. At a young age of 11, Julius began honing his skills at late-night jam sessions in the heart of the city. Over time, he has become a sought-after collaborator, lending his talent on piano, drums, synths or bass to artists like Carmen Lundy, Lackecia Benjamin, Brasstracks and more. With Evergreen, he's pushing the boundaries of jazz, steering it fearlessly into the future.

Rodriguez is demonstrating a lively, inspired talent within the genre’s convention while also infusing his own personal musical identity and history into the music.
