London’s premier Jazz club presents: Nana Rashid

Winner at the Danish Music Awards for best new jazz artist and nominated for best vocal release, Nana Rashid will demonstrate the new sound on Scandanavian vocal jazz with a  sound reminiscent of Roberta Flack and influenced by the artistry of Nina Simone. 

Music for Betty is healing music.  The performance is honest and open: It is both intense and soothing. The songs are full of the melancholy and thoughtfulness of the night hours and the music is performed with raw sincerity, spine-tingling stories about belonging and finding one's place in the world. Her strong stage presence and storytelling covers classic jazz with a contemporary feel.

I will dare to call Music for Betty one of the absolute best Danish vocal jazz debut albums in several years.
